These are some of the "Worst Ways to Die" that I've heard:
- Drowning
- Burning to death in a fire
- Being stabbed to death
- Being shot to death
- Being eaten by a wild animal
- Being eaten by a pack of wild animals
- Being choked to death
- Being tortured to death
Up until recently, I had always thought that dying in a fire would be the worst way to die. It just seemed that a death involving the inability to breathe, burning of the flesh, while undoubtedly having to panic, would be worthy of being considered the worst way to die. That all changed on November 28th, 2008, when I heard the news that a 34-year-old Wal-Mart employee had been "bum-rushed by 200 people" and killed... at Wal-mart... at 5:00 AM in Valley Stream, Long Island. There can't possibly be a death worse than that. I can't possibly imagine what it would be like having to be at work at Wal-Mart at 5:00 AM the day after Thanksgiving, after being placed there by a temporary agency to do a seasonal maintenance job and then having to be trampled by 200 customers who were only after some early holiday sales. Basically, the man died for $9 DVDs and $800 TVs.
I have now decided to nominate this for the "Worst Way to Die" award. I would rather be stabbed and shot, while being attacked by a pack of rabid coyotes inside a burning house, while also choking on a cough drop than die this way.
